RV Maintenance and Fixes

Tires
Dick helped me with maintenance. For one thing, I couldn’t see the number on the trailer tires or the truck tires that told me how much air to add. Dick wiped the dust off the sidewalls and then found the tiny numbers. Now you would think that the pressure number is the most important thing for the tire owner to be able to see big and clear on the tire, but obviously the tire manufacturers don’t understand it from my point of view. Also, it’s important to take the air pressure of the tires when they are cold, then you know how much to add.

Trailer Battery

Dick lifted off the two battery covers and filled the holes with distilled water, not too much, just up to the bottom, too much will cause them to overflow which is not good because of the sulphuric acid mixed in. I looked on the battery to see if it said to add distilled water but it did not – another important missing bit of information for people like me who don’t know that. He said to check the battery every couple of months. I hadn’t known to check it, and I have been using it for over 8 months now.
